Tequila Production Breaks Record
According to the Tequila Regulatory Council, CRT, there was more than 200 million liters of tequila produced in 2006. This record production is due to the increasing popularity of tequila and the increase in the agave stock available. CRT estimated that only 70,000 tons of agave, from the available 200,000 tons, were used in tequila production.
