Never heard of it!! I can see why you would be suspect. It cold be a mixto or just bad liquor.
I think you were right to walk out. If it's not good, don't drink it. It's not worth it in the end.
Let us know the restaurant so we can spread the news to others.
Hope you have better luck as you expand your tequila drinking. Just tried Tierras Reposado and it is pretty good.
